Spectators: 49 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Piers Nethercot got the match started through his kick off. After 7 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Conan Shields was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 9 minutes, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wim Wilmes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 12th minute David Eikelkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conan Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Conan Shields in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Conan Shields made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 18th minute of play. In the 20th minute Lars Meesters shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Conan Shields saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Conan Shields took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wim Wilmes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Clapham Comets F.C. booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Wilmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by David Eikelkamp got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 27th match minute, Clapham Comets F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sly Percival to maneuver through the defense. In the 28th minute of the match Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Conan Shields skillfully saved the ball. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calvin Bourton in the 31st minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Conan Shields prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 41st minute of play forced Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Conan Shields to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st match minute, Clapham Comets F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wesley Ricketts to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute, Vinnie Small hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Conan Wiseman during the 44th minute. Conan Shields was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

Conan Shields came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Lars Meesters. But to his dismay, Lars Meesters quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. In the 61st match minute, Clapham Comets F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinnie Harrison to maneuver through the defense. In the 62nd minute of the match Leigh Case shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Clapham Comets F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Conan Shields reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Conan Shields showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Clapham Comets F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vinnie Harrison didn't get a good kick on the ball. Conan Shields came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. In the 85th minute, David Eikelkamp made a precise shot to the right of Conan Shields. Clapham Comets F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 91st minute of play forced Clapham Comets F.C.'s goalkeeper Conan Shields to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 97 minutes, Bas Tuitert managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bas Tuitert was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the Netherlands players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
