Netherlands's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Silviu Novac scored to the left of an out of position Arnout Reekers, making the score, 1-0. In the 10th match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bas Tuitert to maneuver through the defense. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mei Jie Feng got free with Arnout Reekers in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 28 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of DIF LEEDS BK's Brazilio Butt. Brazilio Butt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
