The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank McLintock got free with Flavio Vittori in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Flavio Vittori was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Frank McLintock showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 11 minute of play. In the 14thth minute of the game Zaccheo Andolina who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Iron Maiden Football's Enéas Tepedino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Italy's Porziano Marchitelli nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Frank McLintock came free with the goalkeeper in the 31st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Flavio Vittori could save by the left post. Zaccheo Andolina succeeded in the game's 37th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-3. Enéas Tepedino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sigfrido Auletta in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Italy were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Iron Maiden Football's Jorginho da Costa was substituted for José Ramos. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. The Italy supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Italy would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
