David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adolfo Batista in the 5th minute of play. After 8 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Lars Meesters. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Sebastian Jaunzuria put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Arnout Reekers. Jonatan Bortzaioriz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Jonatan Bortzaioriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Wim Wilmes got free with Jonatan Bortzaioriz in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonatan Bortzaioriz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Jonatan Bortzaioriz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lars Meesters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Jonatan Bortzaioriz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Bortzaioriz having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Jan Malysz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 37 minutes Cañada Juniors's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Bortzaioriz having to interfere. In the 42nd minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. Nemesio Cesaro kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Jaunzuria made a kick off. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jonatan Bortzaioriz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wim Wilmes in the 59th minute of the match. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 65th minute. Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 68th minute of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. In the 77th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Bortzaioriz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 79 minutes of play, Cañada Juniors's Adolfo Batista made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sebastian Jaunzuria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonatan Bortzaioriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 84th minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Cañada Juniors's goalie and right to Egbert Nijveldt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Cañada Juniors's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adolfo Batista during the 91st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Cañada Juniors's Adolfo Batista got a free kick in the 91st minute. Cañada Juniors succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Netherlands had controlled the match.
