Gabriel Fabelo scored 1-0 in the 4th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Arnout Reekers, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Péter Mészáros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 9th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 14th minute of play forced Csabagyöngye's goalkeeper Péter Mészáros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Gabriel Fabelo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gabriel Fabelo, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Endre Rahner hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Péter Mészáros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 31st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 32nd minute of play forced Csabagyöngye's goalkeeper Péter Mészáros to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Péter Mészáros. Péter Mészáros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 39 minutes into the game, Gyula Németh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Csabagyöngye's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Netherlands the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gijsbert ter Kruimer stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Péter Mészáros having to interfere. Péter Mészáros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 54th minute of play. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. In the 67th minute, Gyula Németh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gyula Németh kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Péter Mészáros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 69th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Conrado Saraiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. 72 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Saraiva came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rd minute Gabriel Fabelo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Netherlands's zone, Róbert Dömötör stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal and Róbert Dömötör tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 82nd minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Péter Mészáros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands were furious when Bas Tuitert was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 93rd minute of the game. One of Netherlands:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Csabagyöngye:s goal. In the 96th minute there was a penalty for Csabagyöngye. Róbert Dömötör stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Arnout Reekers. 3-2.
