Isak Vestberg's late challenge caught a Denmark's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isak Vestberg helped the player get up and apologised. In the 6th match minute, La vecchia signora was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isak Vestberg to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mathias Ludvigsen during the 7th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th minute, Chris Nygaard got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chris Nygaard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Denmark's Chris Nygaard slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Thomas Ravelli. That made the score 1-0 after 27 minutes of play. 29 minutes into the game, Bertram Svenningsen was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave La vecchia signora the free kick. In the 29th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bertram Svenningsen to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Thomas Ravelli was relentless in the 33rd minute of the game. 38 minutes into the game, Svante Vestlund threw the ball into play from the sideline. Denmark's Theis Winther quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After 38 minutes, Tomas Dahlqvist mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La vecchia signora and the Denmark players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to La vecchia signora getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tomas Dahlqvist hit a great ball. La vecchia signora's Thomas Ravelli played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikkel Wulff in the 40th minute of play. After 41 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bertram Svenningsen. 44 minutes into the match, Denmark's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Dahlqvist came free, but Keld Paulsen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Tomas Dahlqvist could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Keld Paulsen made a huge save. After having played for 65 minutes, Gunnar Nordahl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La vecchia signora's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gunnar Nordahl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mikkel Wulff recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thomas Ravelli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chris Nygaard in the 71st minute of play. Mikkel Wulff fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Thomas Ravelli having to interfere. 84 minutes into the match, Denmark's Chris Nygaard sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thomas Ravelli narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 87 minutes of play La vecchia signora's Tomas Dahlqvist was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to La vecchia signora getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Nils-Emil Carlberg hit a great ball. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Michael Forss in the 91st minute of play. Denmark's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
