In the 2nd minute, Edward Vanderstraeten ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leo Björling was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Lenny Clocheret hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. With his leg Casper Claes managed to avoid a goal in the 7thth minute, when Bondeträsk FC's Rikard Nyqvist fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 11 played minutes Belgium got a freekick which was hit by Laurens Vandamme. In the 12th minute of the match Viktor Blomberg shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Casper Claes showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Iyan, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. The corner ended in Viktor Blomberg almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Belgium's Casper Claes did a great save. If Siebe Michiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leo Björling having to make a save. In the 23rd minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bondeträsk FC's Leo Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute Gary Anderson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casper Claes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rikard Nyqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 33rd minute of play forced Bondeträsk FC's goalkeeper Leo Björling to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Belgium's Casper Claes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Belgium from getting a goal against them. In the 38th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Belgium booed when Bondeträsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åke Granqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bondeträsk FC's Leo Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Vanderstraeten in the 45th minute of play. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Yves Dervaux hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The wind increased when Edward Vanderstraeten made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Edward Vanderstraeten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Leo Björling. That made the score 0-2 in the 52 minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leo Björling narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute the ball was on its way in behind Bondeträsk FC's goalkeeper Leo Björling, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leo Björling took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 60 minutes into the game, Åke Granqvist was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bondeträsk FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgium the free kick. The supporters of Belgium booed when Bondeträsk FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Åke Granqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Erik Mattsson in the 62nd minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Bondeträsk FC's Jose Iyan in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Belgium's goalie prevented a goal. Leo Björling made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a good shot on target. Bondeträsk FC made a substitution. Oscar Haraldsson replaced Sven-Erik Mattsson. The referee showed Kaj Borre the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 96 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Bondeträsk FC! Leo Björling didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Vanderstraeten went, in the 97th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Belgium had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
