Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rikard Nyqvist in the 3rd minute of the match. Leo Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 6th minute of play. Bondeträsk FC's Leo Björling played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute of play. Leo Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 15 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leo Björling was left in no man's land by his defense there! Anton Grep's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anton Grep helped the player get up and apologised. Anton Grep hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Leo Björling could save by the left post. After 20 minutes Bondeträsk FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Gijsbert ter Kruimer who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Iyan in the 25th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jose Iyan in the 26th minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Gustaaf Groeneveldt notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Bondeträsk FC's Leo Björling. Leo Björling was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 35th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leo Björling made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Meesters in the 36th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Gary Anderson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnout Reekers was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. With his leg Leo Björling managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a free kick in the 43rd minute. After 47 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Wim Wilmes. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jose Iyan was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Gary Anderson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. In the 53rd minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Björling saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jose Iyan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jose Iyan in the 56th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Åke Granqvist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gary Anderson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 74thth minute, Arnout Reekers skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Iyan in the 78th minute of play. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Iyan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, one of Netherlands:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Netherlands. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leo Björling showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Wim Wilmes in the 92nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leo Björling prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Netherlands players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
