The Huvudstaden fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Verner Drake should have stopped the shot. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Huvudstaden's Verner Drake played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 18th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Adrian Dreifuss managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Adrian Dreifuss was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Verner Drake breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Stefan Bengtsson's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Stefan Bengtsson helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Frank Sachs in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Verner Drake prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience was convinced that Frank Sachs's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Verner Drake was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Verner Drake took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frank Sachs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huvudstaden's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. In the 43rd minute, Thomas Hultman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Germany booed when Huvudstaden was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefan Bengtsson didn't get a good kick on the ball.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Verner Drake showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frank Sachs in the 53rd minute of the match. Verner Drake made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Sachs in the 54th minute. In the 55th match minute, Huvudstaden was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anders Gallin to maneuver through the defense. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sven-Oskar Ålberg, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. When the match had gone on for 89 minutes, Frank Sachs took a quick shot and it went in 0-2 without a chance for Verner Drake to make any attempt to save it. Chris Mergenthaler hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Germany left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Huvudstaden.
