After 3 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Béla Simon was left in no man's land by his defense there! Béla Simon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 8th minute of play. Iván Cordoba charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Iván Cordoba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edelényi Bányász's Béla Simon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 11th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Kliment Frontov came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 16 minutes into the match, Edelényi Bányász's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Béla Simon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edelényi Bányász's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Egbert Nijveldt hit a great ball. After 34 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. After a defensive mix-up in Edelényi Bányász's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Béla Simon came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Béla Simon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Wim Wilmes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the last second Béla Simon throw himself and got hold of the ball when Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 58thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. 60 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Márk Kuti came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, Edelényi Bányász's goalkeeper Béla Simon had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. In the 65th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Béla Simon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wim Wilmes succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 65th playminute. A collision led to Edelényi Bányász getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Örs Markó hit a great ball. In the 71st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Béla Simon successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After having played for 89 minutes, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gordon Blue's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gordon Blue helped the player get up and apologised. In the 94th minute, Gordon Blue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
