In the 20th minute of the match Spain got a corner. Santa Lucia de Merlo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Omar Toledo ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Adria Bielsa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Florentino Herauso quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Santa Lucia de Merlo from getting a goal against them. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Polo Quinteros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Adria Bielsa had several of the Santa Lucia de Merlo's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 29 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-1 score and a disappointed Florentino Herauso as he didn't even see the shot coming. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A collision led to Santa Lucia de Merlo getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Levan Poggenborg hit a great ball. Gabriel Ascaso came out of the goal in the 62nd minute to try and stop a shot by Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young. But to his dismay, M. Agus Young quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Adria Bielsa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Florentino Herauso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when M. Agus Young got free with Gabriel Ascaso in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Florentino Herauso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adria Bielsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After 74 minutes, Hernan Louis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Santa Lucia de Merlo and the Spain players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 74th minute, Hernan Louis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florentino Herauso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sergio Ruiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Sergio Ruiz put it in 3-3 from a short distance just to the right of Florentino Herauso. Santa Lucia de Merlo succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Spain had controlled the match.
