Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovanni Arósio in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fodor Daniel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 41 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antal Valentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hungary's Fodor Daniel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 42nd minute of the match, managed to save Hungary from getting a goal against them. Silvio Bazil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hegedus Henrik in the 44th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Giovanni Arósio came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The wind increased when Antal Valentin made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match Martin Palermo F.C. got a corner.
