Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maurice Odonnell, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Major Barna in the 4th minute of play. In the 5th minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Boone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antal Valentin in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gilberto Boone saved Varennes from getting behind. Fodor Daniel stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maurice Odonnell's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 18 minutes into the match, Major Barna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilberto Boone. Varennes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Major Barna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Major Barna blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Gilberto Boone having to make a save. In the 30th minute, Balazs Lajos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, Varennes's Seth Luke sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maurice Odonnell in the 32nd minute of play forced Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Major Barna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Antal Valentin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Gilberto Boone tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Takacs Tibor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Varennes's Gilberto Boone played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 47th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antal Valentin to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the game, Hungary's Major Barna nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gilberto Boone made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Gilberto Boone made a huge save. In the 55th minute Antal Valentin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Boone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Major Barna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Gilberto Boone, 0-3. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Boone having to interfere. Varennes made a substitution. Hong Mosher replaced Ward Houde. With a little luck, Varennes's Gilberto Boone got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Fodor Daniel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Titus Pineda in the 77th minute of play. Erwin Gay recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 79 minutes into the match, Varennes's goalkeeper Gilberto Boone had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Antal Valentin. The supporters of Hungary booed when Varennes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wendell Petit didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 81st minute Takacs Tibor shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gilberto Boone saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Takacs Tibor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Varennes's Gilberto Boone got control of the ball when Antal Valentin tried to sneak it across the goal line. 92 minutes into the game, Antal Valentin recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Gilberto Boone. Antal Valentin showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. Major Barna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilberto Boone having to interfere. Hungary's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
