Hannes Blomqvist showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. Wim Wilmes might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hannes Blomqvist. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wim Wilmes ran back to his position shaking his head. When Netherlands's Wim Wilmes in the 40th minute got a chance for a shot 40th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Doctors of Ophtalmology's goalie prevented a goal. Wim Wilmes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svante Clementsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Doctors of Ophtalmology's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. In the 56th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hannes Blomqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got free with Hannes Blomqvist in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 60th minute, Göran Brun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Hannes Blomqvist firmly grabbed it by the left post. Per Forsberg hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hannes Blomqvist having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 68 minutes, Hannes Blomqvist successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 71 minutes in the game, Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Hannes Blomqvist having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Sven Ekberg managed to get in a good position for a shot. Doctors of Ophtalmology's supporters rose to their feet, but Sven Ekberg was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hannes Blomqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 80th minute. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svante Clementsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hannes Blomqvist read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. A nice corner shot did that David Eikelkamp got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hannes Blomqvist quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Doctors of Ophtalmology getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Alberto Abilio hit a great ball. When Netherlands's Wim Wilmes in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Doctors of Ophtalmology's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hannes Blomqvist prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Hannes Blomqvist tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
