Portugal's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Angelo Prior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Caetano Moreira, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 40th minute of the game Rodolfo Miranda made a throw-in which Caetano Moreira played forward. In the 41st minute, Felipe Barreto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. 47 minutes into the match, MILLONARIOS FC's Christoffer Blomqvist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felipe Barreto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 59th minute of the match, managed to save MILLONARIOS FC from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 63rd minute of play forced MILLONARIOS FC's goalkeeper Angelo Prior to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Portugal's Rodolfo Miranda got a free kick in the 67th minute. The supporters of MILLONARIOS FC booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodolfo Miranda didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Jauregui blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Federico Errazquin in the 73rd minute of the match. MILLONARIOS FC's Angelo Prior played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Portugal were awarded a corner. Daniel Pimentel went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 89th match minute, MILLONARIOS FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kepa Barajo to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of MILLONARIOS FC booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caetano Moreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 92 minutes into the match, Federico Errazquin notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to MILLONARIOS FC getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Juan Corredor hit a great ball. In the 94th minute, Juan Corredor fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Wilson Amorim.
