When Gijsbert ter Kruimer came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gijsbert ter Kruimer couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mehmet Anıl Açıker got free with Arnout Reekers in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mehmet Anıl Açıker went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 10th minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edvin Lundgren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Şakir Okcan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 2-0. HİSAR's Edvin Lundgren played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 17th minute of play. Christian Martxelin hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Edvin Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Edvin Lundgren was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. David Eikelkamp kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Jaime Patrício had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Edvin Lundgren tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in HİSAR's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edvin Lundgren came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Edvin Lundgren showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Mehmet Anıl Açıker kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. In the 66thth minute of the game Mehmet Anıl Açıker who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Netherlands's Arnout Reekers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mehmet Anıl Açıker in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 69th minute, Lars Meesters hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. HİSAR's Edvin Lundgren proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save HİSAR from getting a goal against them. Edvin Lundgren showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 76th minute of the match. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jaime Patrício in the 79th minute of play. HİSAR made a substitution.
