After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Vanderstraeten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barra Gol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Emanuel Vigil could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. The supporters of PEÇONHENTO FC MG booed when Belgium was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sander Dermaut didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barra Gol showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. If Nelsinho Faria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yves Dervaux in the 43rd minute of play forced PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Barra Gol to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barra Gol narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 47 minutes of play, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Barra Gol was left in no man's land by his defense there! The PEÇONHENTO FC MG players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Belgium were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Emanuel Vigil was the one to do the kick off. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Vigil in the 52nd minute of play. Edward Vanderstraeten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Barra Gol having to make a save. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Vigil, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 62nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Barra Gol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goalkeeper Barra Gol, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Vigil in the 65th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barra Gol. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. In the 81st minute Cafu de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Barra Gol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 88th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tarcisio Luz in the 89th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Barra Gol proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save PEÇONHENTO FC MG from getting a goal against them. Casper Claes came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Peter Paul Crouch. But to his dismay, Peter Paul Crouch quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. When the final whistle sounded Belgium left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PEÇONHENTO FC MG.
