When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Gláuber Cruz took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Sörman got free with Tommy Kahn in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Aytuğ Sabi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. André Sörman's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tommy Kahn firmly grabbed it by the left post. Albin Holweck hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulão Jacinto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of 20 de Março FC booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renan Schmidt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Hélio Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. In the 55th minute, Sven Krakouer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 60 minutes into the match, Pedro Aparecido had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pedro Aparecido was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. 62 minutes into the match, Hélio Donatello had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tommy Kahn. Gláuber Cruz ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. 20 de Março FC had played much better football throughout.
