The referee ignored Ronnys Lärjungar's protests and gave Arnold Sur a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of England booed when Ronnys Lärjungar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Arnold Sur didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Issac Dawson in the 41st minute of play forced Ronnys Lärjungar's goalkeeper Rolf Arvidsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Khalid Kennedy made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Patrik Ahlrot sent off a good shot on target. Tommy Beck could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Khalid Kennedy made a huge save. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kyle Cox to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, England's goal looked a bit too open when Patrik Ahlrot came free, but Khalid Kennedy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Kyle Cox came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the England fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kyle Cox couldn't finish the play. Ronnys Lärjungar made a substitution. The audience thought a goal was coming when Micah Macdonald got free with Rolf Arvidsson in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Khalid Kennedy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrik Ahlrot, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, George Esbjörnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ronnys Lärjungar's supporters rose to their feet, but George Esbjörnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Khalid Kennedy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
