GeRaÇãO-83's Dionisio Gonzo managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cido Miranda in the 9 minute of the game. 10 minutes into the game, GeRaÇãO-83's Ren Jie Fan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Edgar Trigo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 17 minutes, Ren Jie Fan made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Barrenta SC's Edgar Trigo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 23rd minute of the match, Thomás Braga tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Dieguinho Paraíba saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Jânio Lopez helped the player get up and apologised. In a very dangerous position, a player in Barrenta SC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 30th minute. Penalty! In the 35th match minute, GeRaÇãO-83 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Paulinho Ralf to maneuver through the defense. Edgar Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ren Jie Fan in the 37th minute of play. GeRaÇãO-83's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Billy Backman in the 41st minute. After the first half GeRaÇãO-83 were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Didi Couto made the kick off in the second half. GeRaÇãO-83's attentive Stig Sandström managed to snatch the ball when Cido Miranda made a throw-in in the 51st minute of the game. 51 minutes into the match, Ren Jie Fan notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Barrenta SC's Edgar Trigo. Edgar Trigo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Carioca in the 68th minute of play forced GeRaÇãO-83's goalkeeper Dieguinho Paraíba to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, GeRaÇãO-83's Ren Jie Fan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edgar Trigo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Barrenta SC getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Cido Miranda hit a great ball. The GeRaÇãO-83 supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing GeRaÇãO-83 would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
