Denmark's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Chris Nygaard in the 8th minute. The corner led to Denmark's Olav Graversen getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 19th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rory Trimble to maneuver through the defense. Keld Paulsen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hans Smefeldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Keld Paulsen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Smefeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 31 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bertram Svenningsen. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 柯誉海 saved Flamengo from getting behind. After 36 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Denmark! After 39 played minutes Flamengo got a freekick which was hit by Keith Ripley. Keld Paulsen was a little too slow when Rain Kuusk got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 48th minute of play forced Flamengo's goalkeeper 柯誉海 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Chris Nygaard in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg 柯誉海 saved Flamengo from getting behind. A hard shot 53 in the game by Chris Nygaard from a close distance when the talented 柯誉海 managed to make a qualified save. Flamengo's players were relieved. In the 61st minute Andrew Gillespie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Keld Paulsen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Chris Nygaard's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but 柯誉海 was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Smefeldt in the 67th minute of the match. After having played for 70 minutes, Bertram Svenningsen managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Denmark's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bertram Svenningsen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 72 minutes into the match, Rain Kuusk had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rain Kuusk was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 74th match minute, Flamengo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silvan Bragger to maneuver through the defense. Keld Paulsen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hans Smefeldt in the 76th minute of the match. Keld Paulsen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hans Smefeldt in the 76th minute of play. 77 minutes into the match, Flamengo's goalkeeper 柯誉海 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chris Nygaard. 柯誉海 made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Chris Nygaard sent off a good shot on target. In the 83rd minute, Hans Smefeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chris Nygaard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. 柯誉海 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Hans Smefeldt got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Chris Nygaard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of 柯誉海 when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hans Smefeldt in the 94th minute of play forced Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 95 played minutes Denmark got a freekick which was hit by Bjarne Kirkegaard. 97 minutes into the match, Hans Smefeldt notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Denmark's Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. For all the effort they put into the match, the Denmark players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Flamengo.
