Flamengo's Keith Ripley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hias Nüssli in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Samuele Kunz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. 柯誉海 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hans Smefeldt had several of the Switzerland's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 17 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Hias Nüssli as he didn't even see the shot coming. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hans Smefeldt in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hias Nüssli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A throw-in in the 27th minute of the game was made by Marlon Mumford with Hans Smefeldt as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jacinto Maurer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. 柯誉海 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Flamengo's zone, Jacinto Maurer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 柯誉海 came out of the goal and Jacinto Maurer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hans Smefeldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hans Smefeldt made a kick off. Hias Nüssli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrew Gillespie in the 52nd minute of the match. After 68 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Fridolin Neumeister. After some careless play in the Switzerland defense, Andrew Gillespie kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hias Nüssli. The Switzerland fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hias Nüssli should have stopped the shot. In the 76th minute Hans Smefeldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hias Nüssli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hans Smefeldt scored 6-1 in the 79th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hias Nüssli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marlon Mumford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Samuele Kunz hit a great ball. In the 94th minute of the game Marlon Mumford made a throw-in which Andrew Gillespie played forward.
