With an extended leg and a bit of luck Durval Liberato prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 18 minutes into the match, Leça da Palmeira F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Clarke Brooks came free, but Durval Liberato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. POPULAR F.C's Pancracio Paniagua proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save POPULAR F.C from getting a goal against them. Zeferino Ramos hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Victorio Pabla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
