The ball went over the crossbar instead. 35 minutes into the match, Italy's goalkeeper Flavio Vittori had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafal Jakubiak. Evelio Milian made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina in the 38th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zaccheo Andolina in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evelio Milian saved Chelsea Football Club from getting behind. Rafal Jakubiak took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flavio Vittori. Flavio Vittori dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

After a rather tough play, Chelsea Football Club's Aureliano Arnau got a free kick in the 66th minute. Chelsea Football Club's Cleto Firmin was substituted for Benedicto Havier. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adriano Curto in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Evelio Milian prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Porziano Marchitelli was extremely unlucky when he, in the 95th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. 97 minutes into the match, Italy's goal looked a bit too open when Cleto Firmin came free, but Flavio Vittori reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 98th match minute, Italy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Siricio Liotta to maneuver through the defense.
