Edward Vanderstraeten recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by 雷翀景 during the 24th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Vanderstraeten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 韩洲西 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Belgium reached it. 韩洲西 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 39th minute of play. 韩洲西 came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by Belgium's Lenny Clocheret. But to his dismay, Lenny Clocheret quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. 韩洲西 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edward Vanderstraeten's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 韩洲西. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. After the first half Belgium were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 51st minute Edward Vanderstraeten shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 韩洲西 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When 苏天谦 fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored ☆战国☆中国国民革命游击队's protests and gave 苏天谦 a yellow card for diving instead. Siebe Michiels took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 韩洲西. 韩洲西 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. Edward Vanderstraeten took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised 韩洲西. 韩洲西 dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-14.
