Armando Inautzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 24th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. 25 minutes into the match, Viriato Moura had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of André Zonta. The crowd rose to their feet as Maximino Lope kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 2-2 in the 33 minute of play. Armando Inautzi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Wilson Amorim made a huge save. After 36 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Pimentel. After 38 played minutes El retorno del Pincha got a freekick which was hit by Jaques Fierro. Through an outstanding action, after 41 minutes, Wilson Amorim successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After 42 minutes Portugal's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Mercado Paulista who took care of the corner kick. El retorno del Pincha's Mercado Paulista was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Wilson Amorim in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Daniel Pimentel charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Daniel Pimentel the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. El retorno del Pincha's Mercado Paulista shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 46th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Wilson Amorim but with some difficulty. Armando Inautzis short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Wilson Amorim to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sven Thorsberg to make the kick off. André Zonta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 55th minute of play. When Sven Thorsberg came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the El retorno del Pincha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sven Thorsberg couldn't finish the play. Sven Thorsberg struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for El retorno del Pincha. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven Thorsberg in the 64th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 66 played minutes El retorno del Pincha got a freekick which was hit by Jaques Fierro. Felipe Barreto shot from long distance in the 67th minute, but André Zonta was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. 68 minutes into the game, El retorno del Pincha's Sven Thorsberg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Sven Thorsberg's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Christopher Birchall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A sloppy throw-in by Marcel Ternby in the 78th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Felipinho Amorim. 79 minutes into the match, El retorno del Pincha's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but André Zonta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Fabricio Andrade hit a great ball. André Zonta made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Graciano Coutinho sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Portugal's zone, Sven Thorsberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Sven Thorsberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some careless play in the El retorno del Pincha defense, Bartolomeu Dias kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of André Zonta. The El retorno del Pincha fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that André Zonta should have stopped the shot. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 92 minutes into the match, El retorno del Pincha's goalkeeper André Zonta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bartolomeu Dias. André Zonta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. André Zonta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The supporters of Portugal booed when El retorno del Pincha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Justino Raymundo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Portugal eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
