Natã Gerber stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frank Sachs's shot from short distance in the 4th minute. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. When Albin Holweck came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Albin Holweck couldn't finish the play. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 minutes, Frank Sachs made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Atlético da Colina's Natã Gerber tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 18th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Joaquim Massa took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. Natã Gerber made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 25th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faustão Moreira during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Edmundo Trancoso made in the 34th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Faustão Moreira. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Frank Sachs sped through Atlético da Colina's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Natã Gerber. If Albin Holweck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Sachs struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Natã Gerber didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Germany. After the first half Germany were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Atlético da Colina made a substitution. Silvério de Senna replaced Perivaldo Ferreira. Atlético da Colina's Yan Moura was substituted for Joaquim Massa. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frank Sachs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a little luck, Atlético da Colina's Natã Gerber got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Frank Sachs had several of the Atlético da Colina's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 58 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-3 score and a disappointed Natã Gerber as he didn't even see the shot coming. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério de Senna, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rafael Paraíba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 67 minutes into the match, Atlético da Colina's goalkeeper Natã Gerber had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Frank Sachs. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 73 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Natã Gerber was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 82nd match minute, Atlético da Colina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustão Moreira to maneuver through the defense. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmundo Trancoso kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Germany's Frank Sachs got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Germany eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
