Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Heiner Studer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Sachs in the 22nd minute of play. Manolito Baumann received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Owain Wollenmann's late challenge caught a Germany's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Owain Wollenmann helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to 1. FC Union Weberei getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Owain Wollenmann hit a great ball. After having played for 34 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Sven Krakouer hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Nino Forster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Sachs missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 49 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Heiner Studer right hand side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. 54 minutes into the game, Frank Sachs cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Heiner Studer was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58th minute Manolito Baumann shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Owain Wollenmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute, Frank Sachs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Frank Sachs might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Heiner Studer. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Frank Sachs ran back to his position shaking his head. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Heiner Studer when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Chris Mergenthaler kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. 1. FC Union Weberei's Nino Forster couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Germany. In the 88th minute of the match Frank Sachs shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Heiner Studer showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to 1. FC Union Weberei getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Manolito Baumann hit a great ball. Germany were awarded a corner in the 92th minute after 1. FC Union Weberei's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Frank Sachs took the corner. In the 95th minute Louie Anderjoli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The 1. FC Union Weberei manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Germany to win.
