If Gustaaf Groeneveldt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 10th minute of the match, Kärim Benzine tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 14th minute of play forced Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Amancio Videl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 15th minute. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Berni y Benja FC's Amancio Videl managed to reach the ball for a save. A collision led to Berni y Benja FC getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Santos Isusko hit a great ball. In the 19th minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Videl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteve Formerio in the 20th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Amancio Videl showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lars Meesters, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Berni y Benja FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lars Meesters came free, but Amancio Videl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Wim Wilmes got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Amancio Videl. Berni y Benja FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gijsbert ter Kruimer was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 38th minute of the match, Kärim Benzine tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Arnout Reekers saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Berni y Benja FC were awarded a corner in the 42th minute after Netherlands's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Faustão Secco took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Roman Hibai managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 44 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Afonsinho Negri came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amancio Videl saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Berni y Benja FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. The corner led Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer to fire away a dangerous shot which Amancio Videl despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Berni y Benja FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Netherlands were winning 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Kärim Benzine made a kick off. Gustaaf Groeneveldt might have been able to make a better finish in the 50th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Amancio Videl. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 52nd match minute, Berni y Benja FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gavino Hats to maneuver through the defense. After 53 minutes of play, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Amancio Videl was left in no man's land by his defense there! An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonsinho Negri in the 56th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ramiro Sanson hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Esteve Formerio in the 62nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Gustaaf Groeneveldt kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Amancio Videl. That made the score 1-3 in the 64 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Amancio Videl prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Amancio Videl made an important save on a dangerous shot by Wim Wilmes in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Berni y Benja FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which David Eikelkamp managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 74 minutes into the match, Berni y Benja FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gust Ennemans came free, but Amancio Videl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Berni y Benja FC's goalkeeper Amancio Videl had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Wim Wilmes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Wim Wilmes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amancio Videl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Berni y Benja FC's Esteve Formerio got a free kick in the 91st minute. Amancio Videl was a little too slow when Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 93rd minute. The score was now 1-4. The Netherlands supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Netherlands would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
