Idalécio Carrasqueira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Idalécio Carrasqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 10th minute of the match. After some careless play in the SC Atabueira defense, Gijsbert ter Kruimer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Idalécio Carrasqueira. The SC Atabueira fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Idalécio Carrasqueira should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Odín Wallffiguer in the 14th minute of the match. Wim Wilmes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Idalécio Carrasqueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. A collision led to SC Atabueira getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Odín Wallffiguer hit a great ball. Idalécio Carrasqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 24th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Odín Wallffiguer dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Arnout Reekers, 2-1. Idalécio Carrasqueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 30th minute of the match. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 31st minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of SC Atabueira's goalie and right to Gustaaf Groeneveldt. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. SC Atabueira's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Arnout Reekers was a little too slow when Jaime Eiró got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 37th minute. The score was now 3-1. After 43 played minutes SC Atabueira got a freekick which was hit by Gaspar Vital. After having played for 44 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Atabueira made a substitution. Adriano Baião replaced Jarbas Bentes. David Eikelkamp hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Idalécio Carrasqueira having to interfere. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jaime Eiró, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. SC Atabueira's Idalécio Carrasqueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 56th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Belchior Ribeiro in the 57th minute of the match. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Atabueira's goalkeeper Idalécio Carrasqueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After taking down the ball on Netherlands's corner Gijsbert ter Kruimer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Idalécio Carrasqueira quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wim Wilmes in the 70th minute of play forced SC Atabueira's goalkeeper Idalécio Carrasqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 78 played minutes SC Atabueira got a freekick which was hit by Belchior Ribeiro. Idalécio Carrasqueira came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer. But to his dismay, Gijsbert ter Kruimer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Odín Wallffiguer, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute Belchior Ribeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odín Wallffiguer in the 91st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
