Antal Valentin scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rhys Dimmock, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 19 played minutes Zamalek FC got a freekick which was hit by Fred Kirkpatrick. A hard shot 28 in the game by Leonardo Lane from a close distance when the talented Fodor Daniel managed to make a qualified save. Hungary's players were relieved. Leonardo Lane who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 28thth minute tested the skills of Fodor Daniel when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 34th minute Major Barna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rhys Dimmock saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 35 minutes, Leonardo Lane managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Zamalek FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Lane was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sergey Krasinskiy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Fodor Daniel made a huge save. Leonardo Lane in the 40thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Fodor Daniel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Rhys Dimmock took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antal Valentin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sergey Krasinskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Zamalek FC's Viktor Schukin got a free kick in the 46th minute. The Zamalek FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Hungary were winning 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Antal Valentin to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Zamalek FC's goal looked a bit too open when Takacs Tibor came free, but Rhys Dimmock reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 52 minutes into the match, Hungary's goal looked a bit too open when Leonardo Lane came free, but Fodor Daniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Hungary's zone, Leonardo Lane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fodor Daniel came out of the goal and Leonardo Lane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Viktor Schukin hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Takacs Tibor sent away a hard shot on goal in the 58th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Zamalek FC getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Viktor Schukin hit a great ball. The supporters of Hungary booed when Zamalek FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymond Quintero didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 72nd match minute, Zamalek FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raymond Quintero to maneuver through the defense. Rhys Dimmock showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Antal Valentin in the 72nd minute of the match. After 74 minutes of play, Zamalek FC's Daron Joseph made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Fodor Daniel was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 80th play minutes Daron Joseph shot 3-2, a short shot which went by Fodor Daniel and just under the crossbar into goal. Zamalek FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Davis Duff in the 85th minute. The corner led Zamalek FC's Mugurel Balaeț to fire away a dangerous shot which Fodor Daniel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Fodor Daniel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daron Joseph in the 90th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 93 minutes, the score became 4-2 when Daron Joseph sped through Hungary's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel.
