The audience was convinced that Eugênio de Carvalho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Valdir Loureiro made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Roderick van Boxel immediately put the ball in play. Eugênio de Carvalho in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Antônio Paulista struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Breguete FC. The supporters of Breguete FC booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Linus Schwerner didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eugênio de Carvalho to make the kick off. Breguete FC's Artur Pernambucano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 53rd minute of play. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Paulista in the 58th minute of play. When Adrian Dreifuss fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Adrian Dreifuss a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Adrian Dreifuss hit a great ball. In the 71st minute Eugênio de Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Antônio Paulista went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Breguete FC had won after a very even match.
