The throw-in from Babhruvahana Von Bischhoffshausen in the 15th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Italy's Siricio Liotta. After the first half Italy were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Italy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Suleiman Süleyman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Francesco Toldo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zaccheo Andolina in the 86th minute. Francesco Toldo made a fantastic save in the 89th minute, when Zaccheo Andolina sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute, Adriano Curto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Italy fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3.
