Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sebastian Čech's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. After 24 played minutes, Portugal's Felipe Barreto shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Miroslav Kukla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. Linhartice's Orhan Veli Ulukan was substituted for Rastislav Culek. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Miroslav Kukla threw himself towards the right post 72 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Felipinho Amorim, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
