After having played for 6 minutes, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Edward Vanderstraeten might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Claudemiro Tristão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edward Vanderstraeten ran back to his position shaking his head. Alexandre Eanes hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. Yves Dervaux fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudemiro Tristão having to interfere. Adérito Pinheiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Casper Claes made a huge save. Claudemiro Tristão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Celso Eirós short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Casper Claes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito Rebelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Adérito Pinheiro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Casper Claes. Belgium's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Adérito Pinheiro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to GD Almargense getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Alexandre Eanes hit a great ball. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celso Eiró, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zarco Patrício took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Claes. Casper Claes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Edward Vanderstraeten managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Vanderstraeten was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Claudemiro Tristão breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edward Vanderstraeten in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudemiro Tristão prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Zarco Patrício scored 3-0 in the 70th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Casper Claes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Vides in the 76th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Carlos Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casper Claes was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Casper Claes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Vides's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexandre Valadares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Belgium were furious when Nigel Devos was red carded, 81 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in Belgium fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! In the 89th minute Zarco Patrício shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 91 minutes into the game, Alexandre Eanes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GD Almargense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Belgium the free kick. Alexandre Eanes hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. If Siebe Michiels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 96 played minutes GD Almargense got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Eanes. When the referee blew the final whistle, GD Almargense could leave the field as winners, despite Belgium having more of the ball for most of the match.
