Gitarriu's Joel Lundström got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 17 minutes into the match, Gitarriu's Joel Lundström sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gitarriu's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Vergaray Casero in the 19th minute. Vergaray Casero was slow to take the kick. During this time Gitarriu's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Frankie Yankovich almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Hungary's Fodor Daniel did a great save. Gitarriu's Damian Tipinski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 32nd minute of play. Damian Tipinski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antal Valentin, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. A collision led to Gitarriu getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Zelipe Lastras hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Frankie Yankovich during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 37 minutes into the match, Gitarriu's goal looked a bit too open when Antal Valentin came free, but Damian Tipinski reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Hungary's corner Hegedus Henrik fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Damian Tipinski quite easily take care of the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Zelipe Lastras kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Felix Alacuart's late challenge caught a Hungary's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
