The supporters of Germany booed when Celtic FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jyayas Rama didn't get a good kick on the ball. Celtic FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Edson Oliveira in the 8th minute. The corner led Celtic FC's Chiquinho Mattos to fire away a dangerous shot which Tommy Kahn despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Vicente Matos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. After 15 minutes of play, Celtic FC's Vicente Matos made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Celtic FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giovanni Bueno was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Giovanni Bueno to make the kick off. In the 96th minute, Germany's Rolf Rothberg dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, Celtic FC could leave the field as winners, despite Germany having more of the ball for most of the match.
