Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gijsbert ter Kruimer started the match with the kick off. In the 2nd minute, Adam Obert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomáš Požgaj in the 5th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tomáš Požgaj made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 5thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Arnout Reekers would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. The supporters of Netherlands booed when AFK Petržalka was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vernon De Marco didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 19 minutes into the match, AFK Petržalka's goal looked a bit too open when David Eikelkamp came free, but Štefan Semeno reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Eikelkamp in the 22nd minute of play forced AFK Petržalka's goalkeeper Štefan Semeno to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Kees Mooiweer. Wim Wilmes scored 0-2 in the 28th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Štefan Semeno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. AFK Petržalka's Štefan Semeno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 33rd minute of play. Štefan Semeno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 35th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomáš Požgaj was the one to do the kick off. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Pekarík, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnout Reekers came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by AFK Petržalka's Tomáš Požgaj. But to his dismay, Tomáš Požgaj quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers David Eikelkamp in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Štefan Semeno saved AFK Petržalka from getting behind. Štefan Semeno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lars Meesters in the 82nd minute of the match. Wim Wilmes kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. 87 minutes into the game, Igor Bališ cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Arnout Reekers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 91 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Štefan Semeno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. A collision led to AFK Petržalka getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Richard Zedník hit a great ball. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
