Tomasino Quiroz made in the 14th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Belgium's Guillaume Bonte. Guillaume Bonte's late challenge caught a Febre Amarela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Guillaume Bonte helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Belgium's Guillaume Bonte got a free kick in the 14th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lenílson Peres in the 15th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Lenílson Peres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Claes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Simon Sabbe in the 27th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Febre Amarela's Umberto Britto. The audience was convinced that Lenílson Peres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casper Claes was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Febre Amarela's Artur Barral got a free kick in the 37th minute. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Febre Amarela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edward Vanderstraeten was slow to take the kick. During this time Belgium's players had a chance to rest. Simon Sabbe made a great header on Belgium's corner, it was just that Febre Amarela's Luís Fernando Almeida managed to reach the ball for a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Lenílson Peres managed to get in a good position for a shot. Febre Amarela's supporters rose to their feet, but Lenílson Peres was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 57th minute, Lenílson Peres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Edward Vanderstraeten had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luís Fernando Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edward Vanderstraeten in the 61st minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Edward Vanderstraeten had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Fernando Almeida. Febre Amarela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edward Vanderstraeten was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Febre Amarela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adil Vavasseur in the 70th minute. Edward Vanderstraeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Luís Fernando Almeida made a huge save. In the 78th minute of the match, Siebe Michiels got a very nice opportunity to score, but Luís Fernando Almeida was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Casper Claes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lenílson Peres in the 85th minute of the match. In the 88th minute, Belgium's Edward Vanderstraeten ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Luís Fernando Almeida. Luís Fernando Almeida yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-2. Casper Claes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lenílson Peres in the 92nd minute of play. Luís Fernando Almeida didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Edward Vanderstraeten went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score.
