The audience was convinced that Wim Wilmes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Teodoro Peio was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After 20 played minutes Atlético Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Hipolito Beltran. Eric Oltean came free with the goalkeeper in the 29th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnout Reekers could save by the left post. After taking down the ball on Atlético Nacional's corner Kang Wei Yue fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. In the 33rd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teodoro Peio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 36 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Teodoro Peio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodoro Peio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bas Tuitert kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Kang Wei Yue managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Kang Wei Yue was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arnout Reekers breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 44 played minutes Atlético Nacional got a freekick which was hit by Kang Wei Yue. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Netherlands's supporters rose to their feet, but Gijsbert ter Kruimer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Teodoro Peio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 48 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseo Berasko. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Bas Tuitert got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56th minute of the match Kang Wei Yue sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnout Reekers skillfully saved the ball. After 64 minutes of play, Atlético Nacional's Eliseo Berasko made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Arnout Reekers was left in no man's land by his defense there! Atlético Nacional made a substitution. Carlos Alberto Azevedo replaced Eliseo Berasko. With a little luck, Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio got control of the ball when David Eikelkamp tried to sneak it across the goal line. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 77th minute. The corner ended in Gust Ennemans almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio did a great save. 79 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Alberto Azevedo came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eric Oltean in the 82nd minute of the match. Teodoro Peio came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Netherlands's Wim Wilmes. But to his dismay, Wim Wilmes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. 87 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Teodoro Peio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Teodoro Peio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 89th minute of play. Netherlands's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 90th minute. Atlético Nacional's Teodoro Peio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Egbert Nijveldt in the 92nd minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Atlético Nacional was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hipolito Beltran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Teodoro Peio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
