Liu Yan Yan came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Arnout Reekers could save by the left post. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Guadalupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Petru Nisporeanu. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Örjan Forssell in the 21st minute. 23 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Petru Nisporeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Petru Nisporeanu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gustaaf Groeneveldt's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. When the match clock showed 27 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Gustaaf Groeneveldt sped through Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Petru Nisporeanu. Petru Nisporeanu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Wim Wilmes hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. 37 minutes into the match, Deportivo Peñarol FIFV's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Petru Nisporeanu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Lars Meesters kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Petru Nisporeanu. That made the score 0-3 in the 65 minute of play. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liu Yan Yan in the 68th minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liu Yan Yan in the 76th minute of the match. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mauricio Guadalupe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Petru Nisporeanu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the final whistle sounded Netherlands left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Deportivo Peñarol FIFV.
