A sloppy throw-in by Diego Perazzolo in the 5th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Germany's Albin Holweck. In the 8th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. In the 8th minute, Domenico Di Girolamo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albin Holweck in the 13th minute of play forced Laykers's goalkeeper Demetrio Greco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Germany were awarded a corner. Frank Sachs went to the cornerflag to take it. Germany's Frank Sachs was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Demetrio Greco in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 25 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Ermanno Lalli came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ermanno Lalli took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The supporters of Germany booed when Laykers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diego Perazzolo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermanno Lalli blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tommy Kahn having to make a save. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Corrado Pollastrini sent off a good shot on target.

The wind increased when Frank Sachs made the kick off in the second half. Ermanno Lalli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. In the 53rd minute, Ermanno Lalli made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. 56 minutes into the match, Laykers's Carmine Cavanna sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tommy Kahn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 63 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Willy Stieler. After having played for 69 minutes, Albin Holweck managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Holweck was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With his leg Demetrio Greco managed to avoid a goal in the 74thth minute, when Germany's Frank Sachs fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 78th minute Ermanno Lalli shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Ermanno Lalli kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Laykers booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Janik Vogt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ermanno Lalli struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Laykers.
