Thanasis Koltsidas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 12th minute of the match. Thalis Krommidas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donzel Goyeneta in the 14th minute of play. If Thalis Krommidas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Thalis Krommidas's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Wilson Amorim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Faustino Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 22 minutes into the match, Thalis Krommidas dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Wilson Amorim, 2-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thalis Krommidas during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Portugal booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thalis Krommidas didn't get a good kick on the ball. The tension between the AEK S.C and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Portugal booed when AEK S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zacharias Siatzis didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Viriato Moura made the kick off in the second half. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 54th minute after AEK S.C's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Felipe Barreto took the corner. At last the ball reached Graciano Coutinho at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of AEK S.C. 3-1. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Caetano Moreira took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Thanasis Koltsidas to make any attempt to save it. In the 62nd minute Donzel Goyeneta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 64 minutes into the match, AEK S.C's goalkeeper Thanasis Koltsidas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caetano Moreira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipinho Amorim got free with Thanasis Koltsidas in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 89 minutes, Daniel Pimentel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Portugal's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Pimentel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bartolomeu Dias kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. The AEK S.C supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
