After some careless play in the Academica Pulheim defense, Graciano Coutinho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paul Heyckendorf. The Academica Pulheim fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paul Heyckendorf should have stopped the shot. After a rather tough play, Academica Pulheim's Ole Pankok got a free kick in the 22nd minute. The audience was convinced that Alex Mansilha's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wilson Amorim was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. In the 27th minute, Kurt Ahrem ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wilson Amorim was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 32 minutes into the match, Lutz Golke had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lutz Golke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. In the 35th minute of the match, Lutz Golke got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wilson Amorim was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Paul Heyckendorf made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabricio Andrade in the 37th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Mansilha in the 39th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fabricio Andrade hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Viriato Moura was the one to do the kick off. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kurt Ahrem in the 50th minute of the match. Academica Pulheim's Paul Heyckendorf proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Academica Pulheim from getting a goal against them. Academica Pulheim made a substitution. Maxime Vrints replaced Lutz Golke. In the 57th minute, one of Portugal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Portugal. 60 minutes into the match, Alex Mansilha notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 66 minutes into the game, Simon Beuke threw the ball into play from the sideline. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Pimentel got free with Paul Heyckendorf in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartolomeu Dias in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paul Heyckendorf saved Academica Pulheim from getting behind. Daniel Pimentel scored 3-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Paul Heyckendorf, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute, Maxime Vrints made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. 81 minutes into the match, Bartolomeu Dias had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paul Heyckendorf. Academica Pulheim's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bartolomeu Dias was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-3. In the 88th minute, Bartolomeu Dias ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Paul Heyckendorf was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. After 92 minutes, Simon Beuke mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academica Pulheim and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. Simon Beuke hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. 95 minutes into the match, Academica Pulheim's goal looked a bit too open when Bartolomeu Dias came free, but Paul Heyckendorf reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paul Heyckendorf showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 97th minute of the match. The Portugal players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Academica Pulheim from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
