Felipe Barreto was slow to take the kick. During this time Portugal's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to Portugal's Fabricio Andrade getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Felipe Barreto sped through INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of João Carlos Lucas. João Carlos Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 29th minute of play forced INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goalkeeper João Carlos Lucas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 29 minutes into the match, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but João Carlos Lucas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. João Carlos Lucas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but João Carlos Lucas made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abelardo Veloso during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's zone, Felipe Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Carlos Lucas came out of the goal and Felipe Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Carlos Lucas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. After a rather tough play, INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's Abelardo Veloso got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 78th minute, one of Portugal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Portugal. Rafinha de Brito shot the penalty kick right outside the post. João Carlos Lucas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bartolomeu Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Geovanni Ramalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucas Head Son in the 93rd minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had gone on for 94 minutes, Felipinho Amorim took a quick shot and it went in 4-3 without a chance for João Carlos Lucas to make any attempt to save it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA had won after a very even match.
