Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Rabah Timsit made the kick off which started today's match. Hamid Morceli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Netherlands's Arnout Reekers got control of the ball when Rabah Timsit tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnout Reekers made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Rabah Timsit sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Hamid Morceli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Hamid Morceli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 36th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hamid Morceli was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The supporters of THE OLD BOYS booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hamid Morceli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 47th minute of the match. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Hamid Morceli breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gustaaf Groeneveldt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Hamid Morceli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hamid Morceli made a fantastic save in the 82nd minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. 89 minutes into the match, THE OLD BOYS's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Hamid Morceli reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Netherlands's Gijsbert ter Kruimer took a good shot, in the 96th minute, which hit the crossbar above Hamid Morceli's head, and flew over the goal. THE OLD BOYS's manager was very thankful on the sidelines as his team had managed to keep the ball out of the net after some serious pressure by Netherlands. The THE OLD BOYS fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Netherlands were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
