The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Sansone Poso sent off a good shot on target. Silviu Filip showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. Caetano Moreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 21st minute, when Ronaldo Messi sent off a good shot on target. 23 minutes into the match, America De Cali's goal looked a bit too open when Caetano Moreira came free, but Silviu Filip reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute Aquiles Telmo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

America De Cali made a substitution. Clodio Salces replaced Ronaldo Messi. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sansone Poso was the one to do the kick off. Silviu Filip made an important save on a dangerous shot by Caetano Moreira in the 74th minute. In the 75th minute, Sansone Poso made a precise shot to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. In the 77th minute Sansone Poso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sansone Poso in the 88th minute of play. Sansone Poso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 94 minutes of play, America De Cali's Sansone Poso made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Wilson Amorim was left in no man's land by his defense there! America De Cali walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
