After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Enes Hezarfen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lüleburgazspor's supporters rose to their feet, but Enes Hezarfen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Wilson Amorim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Felipe Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Barreto couldn't finish the play. Ali Orhan Hatırlı hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Lüleburgazspor's Tayyar Sanih played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Viriato Moura in the 28th minute of play. 33 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Enes Hezarfen came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Rodolfo Miranda in the 35th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Lüleburgazspor's Haluk Taşel. 41 minutes into the match, Lüleburgazspor's goal looked a bit too open when Viriato Moura came free, but Tayyar Sanih reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Felipe Barreto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tayyar Sanih was relentless in the 43rd minute of the game. In the 45th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Raul Caetano to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Viriato Moura stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Tayyar Sanih showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 51st minute of the match. Felipe Barreto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tayyar Sanih read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. Caetano Moreira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 63rd minute of the match, but Tayyar Sanih made a huge save. Through an outstanding action, after 66 minutes, Tayyar Sanih successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Enes Hezarfen took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. In the 80th minute the ball was on its way in behind Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Lüleburgazspor's Tayyar Sanih got control of the ball when Bartolomeu Dias tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Ataol Uran fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lüleburgazspor's protests and gave Ataol Uran a yellow card for diving instead. Ataol Uran hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match.
