Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Viriato Moura started the match with the kick off. Severino Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Wilson Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Cristiano Chitarroni left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Kroton F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Patrick Vieira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Messias in the 14th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Martin Eriksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Martin Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 21st minute of play. Martin Eriksson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 35th minute of the match. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Felipe Barreto might have been able to make a better finish in the 40th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Eriksson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Barreto ran back to his position shaking his head. Martin Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipe Barreto in the 40th minute of play. Portugal's Felipe Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Fabricio Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the match, Portugal's Viriato Moura sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Eriksson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Severino Messias was the one to do the kick off. A collision led to Kroton F.C. getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Edgar Ieberink hit a great ball. With an all-out effort, Portugal's Martin Eriksson threw himself towards the right post 62 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Faustino Almeida, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The crowd rose to their feet as Portugal's Felipe Barreto slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Martin Eriksson. That made the score 1-2 after 64 minutes of play. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Veli Vefa in the 71 minute of the game. After 73 played minutes Kroton F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Paolo Cannavaro. Martin Eriksson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 76th minute of play forced Kroton F.C.'s goalkeeper Martin Eriksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 77th minute after Kroton F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. A collision led to Kroton F.C. getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Camillo Pavlu hit a great ball. After 81 minutes, Edgar Ieberink mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Kroton F.C. and the Portugal players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st match minute, Kroton F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edgar Ieberink to maneuver through the defense. If Bartolomeu Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Severino Messias in the 83rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wilson Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Cristiano Chitarroni came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Kroton F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristiano Chitarroni couldn't finish the play. In the 87th minute, Graciano Coutinho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Portugal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. In the 90th minute of the match, Bartolomeu Dias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Martin Eriksson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Portugal were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Kroton F.C.'s defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Pimentel took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Graciano Coutinho heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Graciano Coutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. The Kroton F.C. supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Portugal's performance. The match ended with a win for Portugal.
