Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Indiana Jones in the 53rd minute of the match. The supporters of Los Hijos de Doña Beija booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustaaf Groeneveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Albino Brion was substituted for Jyrki Sillanpää. After 56 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. After having played for 66 minutes, Indiana Jones managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's supporters crossed their fingers, but Indiana Jones was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Higinio Aguilera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wim Wilmes in the 69th minute of play. When Gustaaf Groeneveldt came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Netherlands fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gustaaf Groeneveldt couldn't finish the play. Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Luís Fábio Rocha was substituted for Indiana Jones. Higinio Aguilera made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fábio Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Gustaaf Groeneveldt fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 89 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goalkeeper Higinio Aguilera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt. Gustaaf Groeneveldt struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Higinio Aguilera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands. After some careless play in the Netherlands defense, Luís Fábio Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnout Reekers. The Netherlands fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnout Reekers should have stopped the shot. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Albino Brion in the 95th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gijsbert ter Kruimer got free with Higinio Aguilera in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Netherlands's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
